Maya Beck is a lapsed Muslim, recovering otaku, part-time hermit, Cali transplant, broke-af blipster, socially-anxious social justice bard, and genre-confused writer. She is also a 2015 Givens Foundation Fellow, 2017 VONA alum, 2017-18 Loft Mentee, 2017 We Need Diverse Book mentee, and Paper Darts story editor whose fiction and nonfiction has been published by Lit Hub, Revolver, Mizna, PANK, Pollen, the Twin Cities Daily Planet, and more. She currently drafts grants and researches prospects at an arts nonprofit in Minneapolis.
